Well the old Mod bug is biting again. A friend and I just installed the front and rear stainless steel inserts on my black 2004 coupe and they look great. The contrast betweeen the stainless and the black is very eye catching and classy looking. And now for the emblems, I want to replace the stock emblems with stainless also. How hard is it to remove the old ones? The front one does not seem to be a problem but how is the back one attached? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
If you are refering to the flag emblems on the nose and rear deck, then the best thing to do is to get some fishing line and run it under the pastic emblem. That will remove it. Then you can go over the area with some 3M Adhesive Remover to remove the residue.
Those chrome emblems look awesome when they first go on. I've had mine on for about six months. Now they look like chit. I hate them. Look like they came off a car that had been sitting in a barn since the 50's. Paint faded and has some type of film over it that won't come off. The chrome chipped almost immediately. I paid $140 bucks for them. I guess this would qualify as my first rant on the forum. The chrome had some type of overspray on it in places, or either it's where they didn't chrome them worth a crap. MHO, they suck. But if you get them, maybe you'll get some that were manufactured better than mine. I used a screwdriver and needle nose pliers to get the rear deck emblem off (carefully). I know, sounds a little harsh. But it just pulls right off. Also cut out the nipples on the original front emblem, used a dremel and made indentions in the back of the chrome emblem, epoxied the nipples to the backside of the chrome front emblem, then stuck in holes and used adhesive tape. I thought the chrome emblem was a little heavy to just be sitting on the front of the car with some adhesive tape. Probably overkill. Anyways, that's my rant on the chrome emblems, and how I removed old / installed new chrome emblems.

They are attached with two sided tape. The front one has two alignment pins that recess into the fascia. Heat them up with a hairdryer and then take some fishing line and "saw" the tape off. Should not be much of a problem. Then you can clean off the old tape and install the new emblems.
HiTeck Thanks. I glad you told me that before I spent 140 bucks. I think now I will reconsider. But I do have one question, is you car a daily driver and does it sit out. Well that was two. Sorry.
