Does anyone know if GM has specific painting instructions supplied to their dealerships on how to repaint Millenium yellow? My wife had her car repaired by Autoway Cheverolet in Tampa and it came back terrible. First problem is this, when you replace the front bumber it comes from the manufacturer unpainted and it is black. If you are painting the car yellow is it required to first spray the bumper with a white primer? The reason I ask is because the front bumper was NOT sprayed with white primer and it is easy to see that the front bumper is now darker than the rest of the car. Next problem is that after she got the car home she opened the hatch and found the front brake air ducts had not been reinstalled on the car. Then we noticed that the fog lights are totally out of alignment, the driver side light is pointing almost straight down inside the facia, not even remotely close to where it should be. And don't let me forget to mention that the application of the paint is not up to standard for a corvette or any other vehicle for that matter. These problems have called the entire repair into question and I am not confident the the bumper has even been installed correctly. The really sad part of all this is that this was their FORTH attempt to get this car right and the body shop manager gave me his word that he had personally inspected the car and it was perfect according to him. I have completely lost faith in their ability to fix this car and am now in the process of working with my insurance company to send the car to a different dealership. Should I ask the new dealership to completely remove the bumper and sand it back down and prime it white or should I leave that decision to them?
