I was on the far left lane when at the same time BOTH left lanes need to merge into the remaining three lanes!!!! The car in front of the guy in front of me hits the brakes hard, the guy in front of me locks up his brakes, I hit the brakes, skid and this happens..... It was either his truck or the wall(not much of a choice).

Thankfully my dad(who was going with me) and myself are ok. There goes the weekend, the car show, about 3k in damage, and a $104 dollar ticket.......

Thanks for allowing me to vent......

at the very least, your HRE's aren't F-ed up.

Glad you're alright. Hope you get her fixed up nice. Maybe an excuse to go with a tigershark front fascia?

On the bright side, since the insurance company is paying for a new hood, add some extra and put a different hood on it. (or is that a no no on an anniversary edition?)

Make sure you either take your car to someone you know does good work or has an excellent reputation rather than one of the "pro" shops the insurance company will push you to. (of course, you could bring it to NC and I'll do it personally.....lol)

Good luck, glad ya'll alright.

Glad you and dad are safe. The 104 tic. was an added tax from the police for making them leave the donut shack.

I want to thank all of you for the positive support. The ticket (according to the trooper) is a law in the state of Florida; if you strike someone from behind no matter what the cause is, it's labled as "Failure to use due care".

Oh well, I have an appt with the adjuster on Monday at 3:00pm, hopefully she will be back on the road soon. Yeah the thought of a nicer hood has crossed my mind...

A ticket!!! Add insult to injury. Way to go mister policeman. If I was a cop I'd refuse to hand out tickets like that. They don't have the fortitude to do what is right and help the people in the accident. Just hand out tickets and disappear as soon as they can. Burns my butt. Glad you and your Dad are OK. Cars can be repaired.

Glad to know you are all right. By the way, I know (from painful experience) that a good body shop can match AE paint...

Default Body shop

Body shop in Ft. Lauderdale did my Vette when some idiot hit the door. Can't tell it's been touched. If you don't mind the trip i can make a call for you Monday (he only does Vettes as a favor) Vette owner himself, but normally only does the expensive German cars.

That sucks, the only way to describe it. Hate seeing automoible accidents
in general, but when its fellow vetter, hits a little closer to home.

Good luck with repairs!!

First, I am really sorry to hear about this... Just sucks. I make the Fort Lauderdale to Jupiter commute each day. I was just talking to someone at work this week about that area. There is absolutely no guidance as to what lanes go where. When the hurricanes rolled in, the DOT(?) or who ever is responsible, removed all the white and orange construction barrels on the whole 95 construction areas. Well, the people who put them back must have just made it up as they went along. It's a joke, last week I almost ate an 18 wheeler because the 2 left lanes just ended without any warning. The only reason I can see that there hasn't been more accidents during the work week is that traffic on the interstate from Boca to Palm Beach barely breaks 20 mph.

Hang in there...She will be all better soon.
