My son's girlfriends father passed away. He has a 1997 Triple black.
The car has 4,100 miles on it and it is perfect!!
6 spd, alot of options, removable hardtop, CD changer in trunk, leather and traction control.
The family wants to sell it. Any idea of approx. value?
If there is anymore info I need please let me know.
Thanks

This car is very special.. very low milage , not sure if this car is a convertable... or a coupe... all coupes have a removable top..
when people refere to a car as triple black. it means its a convertable..
black paint , black interior, black convertable top..
if this is the case and it also has a hard top... its really a nice find..
IM guessing it is worth somewhere betweeen 25 and 29,000 . IM sure there is someone who would pay 29,000 for such a find.. all you have to do is find him... I would post it on the forsale section here in the forum and ask 29,000 for it.. I believe it is worth that... but you should have no trouble selling that car for 25/26,000. If its a coupe I would say 22 to 24,000.... if its a vert its worth a few thousand more, and a few thousand for the Hard top.. I would not look at any NADA, or Kelley's on this car... this is Not a car to be wholesaled...
No convertibles in '97, so it has to be a coupe. What you want to know is if it has the Z-51 options. There were less than 2,500 vettes with the MN6 and Z-51 combination built in '97. There was no HUD in '97, but I think dual climate controls may have been available. Electric seats on both sides adds value.
The market is still pretty soft for vettes, so the best advice is to drive it for awhile because the very low mileage probably won't make all that much difference to most buyers. No great difference between 4,000 and 15,000 miles for a 7 year old car. Newer models with more options are available betw 25-30K.
C5inWV, how will I determine if it is equiped with the MN6 and Z-51 option?
I have the Vin number, will that help?
I have not seen the car myself. I am only going by my son. He drove it today and he says it extremely fast.
Option codes are on a label on the underside of the right hand rear compartment cover, Z51 will be listed if it has it. Dual zone HVAC was available in '97 as were sport seats as an option. No HUD and no active handling.

This is right. Look at the bottom side of the compartment lid in the rear on the driver's side. Mine says Z51 in the 4th column, 4th row.
You can also look at the brake calipers and sway bars, but it might be hard to see the difference if another vette wasn't beside it.
MN6 refers to the manual transmission. A4 is the automatic.
Its worth what ever someone is willing to pay! I know thats kinda not what your looking for, but people will spend a lot more if its the car they want and it has low miles like this one does. Start high but leave your mind open to offers. It all depends on your timeline and how much exposure you want to provide.
