Tonight at Laguna Seca the factory C5-R's ended the most successful run of race prepared Corvettes in history with a final win in the ALMS season finale. It's a bittersweet win as the two yellow cars finished 1-2 in class (and 4th & 5th overall) for the final time It was also the first time Corvette has won at Laguna in ALMS after many close defeats (and a pretty spectacular fire a few years ago!).
Here's a salute to Ronnie & Johnnie for their last victory in a C5 and may the C6-R have as much success in its run--it's got some big "shoes" to fill.
You can still see the race tomorrow (10/17) on NBC (11 am PDT).
Yep a great finish to a great season, to finish the season undefeated (there wasn't really anyone near them this year) and finally get the win at Laguna.... Well Done to the Corvette Racing Team...
Looking forward to seeing the C6R next year..
