Tire Stems n Sensors
Can anyone help...
I have a metal tire stem on a '97' where the top broke off when I undid it due to the metal cap reacting with the stem and causing it to jam on!
I'm fairly new to the technology of run-flats, do replacement stems come with the sensor, or do you get em seperately?
Also I have a sensor which is 'slow' to give a reading when cold. Not the same wheel unfort...
How do they work, and do they wear out?
Any offers>>

The sensors are battery-powered and transmit a wireless signal to the receiver in your car. They transmit about once a minute when the car is in motion, and about once an hour when the car is idle (to preserve the battery life).
Yes, over time the sensors will eventually die. They are rated to last about 7-10 years, so if all your sensors are the originals, they are nearing the end of their life.
As they are GM and I live in the UK, I guess they won't be cheap either.
Would I get these from Ecklers or similar and how much ??
Thanks
By the way it's 5 a.m. here, I must be so sad to be in the forum at this time of day!!

) so no worries. The GM sensor part # you need is 10438853
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com lists them for about US$100 shipped (in the US). You may want to contact some forum dealers like Fitchner or Fred Beans too, they will probably offer competitive pricing on these as well, and can probably get you some better service shipping overseas.
