It's not the vehicles that you need to watch out for. It's the drivers. Some people see a Vette and they start driving faster, or will blow by you as if that means they have a faster vehicle. It's very strange....

Noted!

Not really worried about speeding! Don't do it often, but was wondering what vehicles are in the C5 performance group! That's all!

Just about anything, depending on the mods. We've had questions here about EVO's and Mustang Cobras, Vipers and Ferraris, BMW's and Mercedes.

It's not so much which cars ARE adversaries as it is which owners THINK they are. While it's possible to buy or build a car that will outrun a vette on the drag strip, damn few can do that and keep up with it on a mountain road as well, certainly nothing within tens of thousands of dollars.

It's as if they have to show that they can go faster or drive better than you. Must a feeling of inferiority thing and the need to be superior.

This is specially true for people in Mustangs. I don't get it because I never try to show anybody up or anything, and I don't have anything against Mustangs. Inferiority complex maybe?

I agree Mustangs think they need to pass you a lot, but you would be surprised in my area how many people in mini vans try to over take you. Nothin like a soccer mom going 85 in a mini van.

Why is it mini-van drivers will do their best not to let you merge, or ride your a**, or try to pass you just to show that they may not have a vette but they can one-up you anyway? It's not a competition out there, I'm just trying to get from point-A to point-B.

around here, any Dodge RAM with a Hemi makes the driver think he's in a bullet on wheels.... it's odd to say the least.

In this area, its the Mustangs, Camaro SS, and Ram Air Firebirds that seem to be the adversaries.

I had a kid in a clapped out Nissan "blow by" me on the freeway as I was preparing to take the exit ramp one day. Glad I could make his day for him...

Similar type situation here. A guy in a maxima flew by me as i was getting of the parkway. Im sure this guy is now telling all his friends how he just smoked a vette. Kinda funny if you ask me.

Its the people you normally don't think will cause a problem that are sometimes the worst. I was out on the expressway a few years ago running at 65 in cruise and this woman comes up beside me in some econobox and rides beside me for a while, then she pulls in front of me and immediately slows down, I pull out to pass her and she then matches speed on my right side. After a while she dropped back and I pulled back over to the right. Then she started riding on my bumper. After a while she was back on the left. Now while all of this was happening we were the only two cars within sight. Why do I remember this? Because while she was moving around to my left one more time and I was paying attention to her a white bucket laying on the side of the road blew in front of me and I hit it causing $1500 damage to the front fascia.

The Vette is perhaps the most saught after kill by any other car. Excluding extremely high priced exotic cars.

Honda's, Supras, mustangs ect... all take pride in knowing that, they beat a car that is 75% of the time out of their price range.

When I drive the interstate highways, I normall set my cruse control at 78 mph and just "motor along"

But just about every car I pass then speeds up, passes me, and then slows down in front of me so that I end up motoring by them again and again and again.

The Corvette has a "Mystique" that extends out about 500 yards in all directions. Non corvette owners within range go crazy because they don't have a Corvette.

Corvettes are special, Always have been, Always will be. Other cars may be faster, but they ain't Vettes!
