Clean Wheels?
Can anyone tell be the best way to clean my set of Y2K thin spoke rims on my C5? I will be storing it in the winter and want to take the wheels off and give them a through cleaning. I dont know how or what products to use.

I think good ol' soap and water is the best. There are a lot of wheel cleaners available, but none of them will do better than soap & water, and the wrong one can damage the wheel finish.

I use Meguiars NXT wash. I have also taken them off and waxed them about 2x this year. I plan on putting another coat of wax on them before stroage.

Soap and water do well. For any hard to remove things, use some bug and tar remover. Then finish up by giving the wheels a good coat of wax.

Also, a good Citrus based cleaner and claybar (as others have mentioned) will take care of the stubborn stuff. I don't know how clean your wheels are to start with but the barrels of mine looked like this before and after with the above mentioned cleaning.Before
