Default Got the car back from the 'docs.

So I finally had some toys put on the vette, a vararam and the LG headers. IT SOUNDS AWESOME. No more cats. Just headers into X-pipe into titanium mufflers. Definite muscle car meets exotic feel to it, and definitly gets more looks. It's also quite LOUD. I had the biggest smile on my face after it started up. You can actually hear the cam a bit now!

I started with 332 RWHP and 335 RWTQ. I then went to 367 RWHP and 368 RWTQ. Best of all I gained 15-20 RWTQ AT IDLE (torue at idle is 310 now)! Torque curve stays LS6 flat as usual, never dropping below 290, and even then it's only at the very end of the powerband. the 15-20 torque increase is throught the powerband.

Horsepower increase 35 with just intake and exhaust! I was hoping for 390RWHP, but looking at the gains I'm very happy with the results.

I will post a pic of the dyno once I can get to a working scanner.

The docs were also a really nice group of guys. When I came to pick it up they were working on someones car. Reminded me of my friends and I at night after we got off work just hanging around the engine.

Anyways: to all! Life is good.

I am guessing that this is an '01?

You are going to run without cats? You might fail a smog check.

Why would they dyno the car at idle? I have never seen a dyno run at idle.

From his sig, its an 01, I'm amazed how much power those headers added for him. When I added headers to my 03, I went from 375 to 379 RWHP, with 3 diffrerent tuners. I think those are pretty good numbers for an 01. Have fun with it!

I'm jealous! I can't wait until I can bring the Z06 to the Vette Doctors!

To answer the questions:

Yes it is a '01.

No it's not going to be smogged per-se

They ran the dyno from like 1400 or so up (not sure it's not in front of me). I consider ~1400 rpm near idle. Sorry for the confusion.

I really wanted a bit more horses. I'm thinking of maybe getting the higher ratio rockers just to increase the cam a bit without having to break open the motor. Maybe some UD pulley's. Only time will tell.

Did you buy the LG headers and take them with you to install? They are not listed as selling them.

I am jealous that all you people seem to have good tuners in your area. Anybody out there want to open a real shop in St. Louis with me?

Yes I bought the LG's in the GP, then just took them over (after forgetting them at my house, DOH!).

Dyno was from 2300 RPMs up.

As an update: DON'T MOD YOUR CAR! Now I'm looking for a nice all-around cam to complement the exhaust. And some Stage 2 porting. And some pulleys. And a supercharger. And some appearance mods. Some racing seats. Shifter. ARGH! I feel like I have mod A.D.D.
