I think the price is fine for 3 pulls with a printout. I won't be much help to you since I'm way up here in Taxachusetts. If I were closer I'd be all over it though.

3 pulls for that amount is fairly reasonable. That's about what they charge at most major Corvette shows.

Your pricing sounds very reasonable. I would also recommend offering tuning, then you can 'sell' your knowledge and help make more money.

If I remember from one of your previous posts, you are in the northern Ohio area? I plan to start a dyno shop in the Dayton area in the next 12 months if I can swing it. We may eventually be neighbors. We currently design and sell Dyno simulation software and would like to expand.

Also - are you still going portable? I am looking at buildings now (Modular, Steel, Brick) - we have the land secured. Maybe if you want to exchange ideas, PM me.

Good luck!

Ron

You have to be careful what you're asking.... I wouldn't pay that for three pulls, but not because I don't think it a reasonable price. It is. I just don't have any need (at the moment) to do a dyno run with my car. If I had mods planned (or had just done mods), I'd probably go for it.

As written, it's like asking whether somebody would pay $5.95 for a full rack of ribs without ascertaining whether they were hungry.

As a rookie in the modern world of electronic tuning, would someone tell me what the point of three pulls is? Doesnt' one give you a good readout? Is there some reason your engine would do better on the 2nd or third pull?

First PUll(typically a cold motor) almost always registers high hp and tq. The second and third pulls generally are a more realistic view of actual hp and tq.

I'm getting a full tune Nov 12 at Dyno-Tech. They're estimating $500 with my mods including a full folde of all the printouts.

Then it's prolly time to put a cover on her

Well why not just warm the thing up before you do the pull? It's not gonna get any warmer reving the pistons through the hood than it would idling in the parking lot.

Recently, someone in my area (Rochester, NY) set up shop with a Mustang dyno. The man doesn't have any tuning capability yet, however he gets around $75-100 for two pulls, from what I've heard.
