Can I shave the Dot matrix pattern on the back window before tinting?
I understand I'll have to be super careful not to destroy the rear window defroster...thinking a flat razor would do the trick???
I've heard of people lightly sanding it but never heard of anyone using a razor blade on it.
Others have said that they were able to tint right over the dots with no problem. I think they just had to go back a few days after the tint was originally put and and just smooth everything back out again.
If you try using a flat razor, you'll probably scratch the window.
I prep new cars and have had to scrape glue off the inside of a window more than once, and haven't even scratched the dot pattern on the window with a little pressure. The amount of pressure you'd need with a flat razor would definately scratch the window.
