Anyone have problems with their turn signals before? Mine would all of a sudden not work. In the beginning usually as soon as I would shut the car off and back on they would work. Now I usually have them in the moring, but in the afternoon and nights nothing. They are not working more than working now. The dealer said it was a faulty hazard switch. The hazards work perfect. Are the signals tied in after the hazards? Thanks for your help

I think you're looking for part #26075870 "Turn Signal Switch"
these sorts of things used to be mounted on the fuse panel, no idea where in the world they put it on the c5. Maybe somebody else will chime in .. (yes, I'm aware of the fuses for them on the panel.)
This time, the dealer is right. The Hazard Warning Switch controls the turn signals. This switch is also used in other GM cars and often goes bad, so service guys are very familiar with it.
ok cool, then I guess off to the dealer I go to get one. Where abouts does it go? Is it the actual hazard button I replace or somewhere else under the hood or dash? Thanks again
Mine has this problem right now as well. Talked to a tech at the local dealership (which is a great service place Tom Jumper), and he said it sounds like the Hazard Warning Switch (as someone has already said). It is under the dash behind the center console.
Will be getting mine fixed next time I have a chance I have.
My 2001 ZO6 started to do the same thing hit hazard switch and the signals started working again the car is at the dealer as we speek for this problem and twilight sentinel problems thank god it's under warranty

first off, i bought my vette from tom jumper too. second, the turn signal switch is located directly behind the hazzard button. the service manual says you have to pull the dash to get to it (genius thinking to put a switch that is prone to going out in a place where the dash needs to be pulled to get to it) anyway, tom jumper wants around $300 to replace it (that doesn't include the $40 they want for the part)

My daughter had this issue with her 2001 Chevy Malibu with the exact same symptoms. When we took it in to the dealer - they knew exactly what the problem was and replaced the hazard switch under warranty. I just looked at the Corvette ActionCenter web site - and I couldn't find any TSB's out there pertaining to Vettes on this, but I think given the proleferation of parts bin sharing within GM - you could have a faulty switch.
Maybe Patches will chime in with some photos from his vast database and help you out. Just my humble opinion.......

That would be nice. If it is something I can fix myself that would work, if not I must take it in soon. I am going crazy without signals everytime I change lanes.
Hi Don, Try some electrical contact cleaner spray. Spray into your hazard warning switch and work it on and off a few times, worked for a friend of mine on his 99 coupe.Turn signals started to work again and he's hasn't had any problems. Hope this helps. Good Luck.Save the Wave.>George
I too have the turn sig prob on my 2000 coupe. when the turn signal doesn't owrk I push on the hazard lights. Sometimes the signal comes right on sometimes it take a few pushes but it does get it to work. Currently trying to get dealer to fix for fre... I'll let ya'll know if I am succefull.
Did anyone ever get a proceedure to fix this? I'm having this problem now. I'm going to purchase Part #26075870 (as advised above) and then go in and try to replace the switch. Is there an easy way, I don't want to have to pull the dash.
I can see you're new to this forum so something you must understand, nothing here ever gets resolved. It just drops down to the bottom of the list and everybody forgets about it.
When I had my Hazard Warning Switch replaced, the tech was able to do it without taking off the top dash pad. He got at it from underneath after taking out the stereo. I prefer taking apart as little as possible. Knowing techs, most of them break clips, scratch things, and then force things back together and hope it stays until you drive away.
Congrats as your hazard switch joins the ever-growing landfill somewhere on this planet that stores those from other C5s.
This is fairly common. Your turn signals are intermittent, yet most of the time if you press the emergency flasher button, then for a short while your turns signals might work correctly.
I did a write up on how to replace that fella awhile ago. I'll go see if I can find it.
I just replaced my emergency flasher this past weekend folllowing these instructions. It took about 30 -45 minutes and worked PERFECTLY!!!!! Just follw these very clear and precise instructions and you can easily replace your flasher without pulling the dash.
This was done to fix the problem with my turn signals sometimes not flashing. They would start, then just stop with no display on the dash. Repalced the flasher and they work like new again.
StaveL2, thanks so much for your help and instructions!!!
