Cag defeat stopped working
My car's check engine light came on and I checked my codes. I got code p0803 1-4 upshift solenoid. After a search sounds like a few people have had the same problem. So off to radio shack to get resistors, I replaced the cag defeat with the resistor no more code or check engine light. So I decided to take the cag defeat apart. There was no resitor in it. It had 2 wires running to nothing or connected to nothing other than a plug of silicone. I soldered a resistor to the wires in the cag defeat and reintalled it. No more problems. I got the cag defeat from one of the catalogs I don't remember which one as I had orders out to several when I bought the car. I don't understand how the cag defeat worked fo 6 months with no problems unless the plug of silicone acted as a resistor.Glad I didn't take the car into the dealer with this problem.
