Another nose mask thread (C5 Creations)
I not really too fond of nose masks but for long trips it looks
like a must. I'm interested in the C5 Creations Mask. Anyone want to chime in ? How's it fit? Color match? Material quality? , Installation ?

Have responded to this type thread on several occassions. C5Creations makes a terrific mask. Very light weight and easy to install/remove. Fits very tight (no flapping at speeds over 100 mph). Color selection is somewhat limited but black pretty much goes with all color car. Put it on when taking trips, then remove when around town. Launder it once in awhile on gentle cycle and good as new. Price around $149.00 I think. Well worth it.
I have the C5Creations mask and love it. It comes in Torch red which will go well with your car. I paid 129.00 for the mask and 48.00 for the mirror covers.

The C5 creations mask has an advantage in that it can be washed and folds up into a nice neat package. It does look good on the car too. However, the cost is a bit high IMO. I have the GM bra and can get it for half the price. Not sure how well the C5 creations mask holds up to rocks hitting it.
I think the biggest difference is in town (10 50mile trips) is that hopefully the average speed is slower. Running down a highway at 70-80 mph and a stone being slung back at over 100mph (figuring though the vehicle in front of you is running the same, the wheels are spinning considerably faster) and you going in the opposite direction towards the stone probably is equivalent to your car sitting still and being hit by a rock at over 150 mph.
Of course, this is just my opinion... could be wrong.
I got the stretch fit mask from C5 Solutions...same thing I think....bought it specifically for going to Cruise In....worked great looks good and clean up is EZ....caught lots of tire debris etc....worth it to me for an alternative to my GM Bra and it shares the same snaps pretty much..I installed 1 more to accomodate both
Just curious because so many people say this,
but how is the exposure different on a 500 mile trip versus
10 x 50 mile trips?
If you want a bra for the protection, wouldn't you want it protected
all the time?
I picked up my C5 one day and the next day, literally 2 miles away,
I got dinged by a flying rock.

I use a bra on long extended road trips, for bugs. I seldom drive the vette around home at night when the bugs are REAL bad. When I am on vacation I find myself driving ALOT at night, and I get PLASTERED with bugs. Also around home, if I get bugs splats on the car I take the time to wipe them off. When I am on a road trip or on vacation, the LAST thing I want to be doing is cleaning bugs off my car. I wash the car, prior to going on a week long trip, and when I return. I don't want bugs sitting on the car for 6 days baking in the afternoon sun.
