1 to 4 shift?!?!?
What the heck is the purpose of this "feature" besides to annoy the hell out of me?
Will replacing the shifter with the Hurst get rid of it?
Is there any other way to get rid of it?

Search the site, and you'll find plenty of threads on this.
Anyway, it is there so that Chevy can get a higher EPA mileage rating. No other reason. And, you can disable it with a CAGS bypass for about $30. Many places sell them, such as MA Designs.

Is a 20 cent resistor. Purchase it localy at radio shack
Plug it in and tape it up.

Get the cags delete
It is a gas milage thing, so you won't have to pay a gass guzzler tax
Or just floor it everytime off the line and the cags won't activate.
