Hi, I recently replaced my coupe with another just like it only to find out that I can't stand it's interior color. I would like to completely change it from the color it is now (dove grey) to the light oak color my previous car had.
My basic problem is that I can't find vendors who sell all the stuff you would need. For instance, vette essentials has complete interiors for vettes but not the c5. I'm not interested to go the carvaggio route, I just want a stock light oak interior. I also wouldn't mind getting some of the torch red panels etc for some accenting, but for the most part I want to change everything from the carpeting to the seatbelts.
Has anybody done this, and more importantly, done this on a budget?
best idea is to find a totaled car at a yard, I have a friend who has a med. size corvette bone yard. if you want email me and I give you his contact info!
When I bought my silver vert with the grey interior, I am ashamed to say I had never even seen the color in the car before. When the car arrived I don't think I could have chosen a better color. I realize everyone has different tastes, but I love the grey interior.
Yeah I know what you mean. I feel the same way about the light oak. It's a subjective thing...
The problem is that I didn't have a whole heck of a lot of chioce in picking my replacement car (Nassau Blue) and the interior I have now is kinda beat. I _really_ liked the way the light oak panels looked with the red interior door lights. The inside of the car felt much brighter than with the grey interior I have now.
I just can't believe that there isn't a vendor who does complete interior kits. I can find them for almost every other car out there.
If you don't have any luck going the boneyard route. It looks like Ecklers might have what you want. (I can't comment on the quality or how the price stacks up, I've never seen them in person)

Wasn't too crazy about shale at first but like it now.

Gene (Karshop is his username here on the forum) should be able to help you out with everything you need...you'll find several posts in the Parts section...

Many thanks,

As far as I know, Vette Essentials only sells interior pieces for C5s. Although, if your trying to do this on a budget, VE is not the place to go. If you do want custom red accents, they are the place to call. For stock interiors, used, check Gene's; new, try Corvette America.

Stupid me! You're right, I was thinking of Corvette America who has the full interior kits.
