We just bought an arctic white coupe and have decided we need to do something about the
dirt that constantlyy collects behind the tires on the body. We are open to suggestions
as to what color to put on, which mud flaps are the best to use.
Also...or would it be better to use the clear protection systems we've seen advertised?
I hereby suggest using no mud flaps at all.
eww.
Thats like drawing a mustache on the Mona Lisa
I agree and Nice analysis, but you do have to remember Mona Lisa was Italain and a mustache could have been appropriate.. THats why Most italian men , Like myself... have a mustache, just like our Mom's
86 the thoughts of Mud Flaps...buy a California duster and hit those dusty areas. a quik wipe with a towel and some quick deatiler will do the trick..

The consensus is that mud flaps are a on a vette. If you're worried about damage, look into 3m paint protection film. It's sold as Xpel (link on this site) and other names. You can find a profeesional installer through the 3m Website.

If you do decide to use them, I would recommend going with the black. You'd be surprised how inconspicuous they are when mounted. If you paint them they will really stand out even more.

I've got a set of black ones from Ecklers on mine. No drilling required. Many do not like the looks of mud flaps on the car, but they sure keep the rock chips and crud off my car.
I use the Altec color matched stone guards and they work wonderfully.
If the car is a Daily Driver as mine is the stone guards are very functional and needed to prevent paint chips.
be sure not to lower it if u use truck mudflaps. then u'd be screwed over any kind of bump. if u put mud flaps on it like u would an F 150 then u might want to raise it actually and stick some chrome naked ladies on the flaps and stick some Z71 stickers on the sides. heck, a Z-LS1 might be cool haha. anyway, no flaps. gross on a sports car. i'd do the clear static cling stuff or even the 3M clear bra type of material on the rockers.
I have the flaps on the Fronts only from Ecklers and they look just fine. Get on your hands and knees and take a CLOSE LOOK at your rocker and lower door panel area, one good look should make you install them alone. e mail me for a pic of them installed if you are a skeptic.
