Default Airbag removal?

I have taken the airbag out of the steering wheel of my 99frc and removed the single wire with spring, how do you remove the large yellow wire that feeds into the back of the air bag? Can the passenger side be removed without takeing out the dash?

Looks like Ken King has removed the instructions from his site, but if I recall correctly, it's just a "clip in" connection, similiar to a Cat5 cable.

As for the other one, I do belive the dash has to come off.

I have the cover off the yellow wire on the back of the steering wheel. Does it pull out of the back of the air bag or do the wires come out

Why would you want to remove the airbags?
You could be opening yourself up to lawsuits, remember you are in the USA where lawsuits are a dime a dozen.

Man, I hate to say it, but that's just dumb.

Just my opinion.

No one asked about the political, social, or moral reasons for removing the air bags. So back to my original question please. If you don't know anything about how to help don't reply. Thanks.

If it's for weight reduction it's a waste of time.

I personally would have my wife holding the airbag firmly in front of her until I made sure the connection was terminated. If not..........damn did i say that aloud????????

I've seen several people do it to make race cars...other than that...?

Dash has to come off for pass airbag to come out correctly. 4 bolts under it in the glovebox area...

I have removed both bags from my 99 FRC.. In order to remove the
drivers side coil, you need to remove the steering shroud. It's too big to
pull thru otherwise. The dash has to come off to get out the
passenger bag without breaking anything. The filler panel (with the word CORVETTE) is part of the bag, so you will need to soap it up and slide it out of it's slot.

And if anyone needs to know, I took them out because I don't feel
comfortable sitting in front of a loaded gun.

Steve, how do you remount the cover panel on the passenger side airbag (with the actual airbag removed) to make it look right? Is there anyway to utilize the space behind if the airbag is gone?

Default No air bag needed with Safety Harness?

I might be wrong, but if you using a safety harness, like for racing, what good would an air bag be? You'll never move forward enough to contact the air bag.

I got them out earlier today, the 12v wire just pulls out the back of the driver's air bag. Now I am off to ebay. Thanks to those who offered helpful directions.

I'm not talking about the "political, social, or moral reasons". I'm talking about the safety reasons. Taking airbags out is pretty close to defusing a bomb.
