These are beautiful wheels. It's a shame they are clear coated..and they are not fully forged only the face is forged the barrel is spun cast, , which makes them light but easily bent.

I am not trying to slam these wheels or those who have chosen them... I was going to buy these wheels.but after doing my research I found two flaws for my application.. one was clear coat and the other was a spun cast wheel. These wheels are as much as 6 pounds lighter than a forged wheel... thats 24 pounds a selling point.. but they are also muchg cheaper to manufacture.. 24 pounds equates to 4 gallons of gas.
let me say this.. a good pot hole hit could bend a spun cast wheel..
that doesnt mean if you hit a pot hole the wheel will bend.. but if you hit a pot hole in the unsupported area of the rim..the chances are greater that you will bend that wheel.. compaired to a Forged wheel.. It's great to talk about all the positives and like I said these wheels are beautiful.. but its equally important to look at the negatives.. I know many people are not comfortable with negatives... but if it were me I would want to know... Ive tried to always be honest on this forum and not say what was politiclly correct.. most peole subscribe to "if you can't say something positive" then dont say anything".. I think that type of thinking does this forum a dis service..

DO you know anything about the SSR Comp-H wheel? is it the same deal with the Spun cast wheel? I'll be calling up about the Comp-H wheels tommorow, so far I like everything about them expect this new info. The Comp-H are even lighter then the GT3.

I would suspect they are spun cast if they are light.. I live in the north east and after the winter here we get alot of pot holes.. I dont drive my car in the winter but when the weather turns nice I like to get out.. and there are plenty of pot holes around..it takes up untl march or april for all the pot holes to be filled so after my research I had to cross them off my list.. plus the clear coat issue..

Yeaah Im up watching as well..
IM not trying to influence you but because its late we can chat.. Ive been trying to get a chat server for this forum for two years... we were close about six months ago.. but then the focus cooled off..
anyway I was looking at HRE 547, the Iforged Evos and the SSR GT3,
the HRE's are beautiful but 8000 dollars was more than MY retired budget could afford.. The Iforged evos are really nice but Iforged was thrown off this forum for many issues,.,,, I hear they are much better now but Iforged left a bad taste in my mouth.. you had to be here when they were here,, and it got ugly...
you know mt research on the SSR
which lead me to the CCW 505's which are beautiful , HRE quality..
and in the SSR price range..

The CCWs is a great looking wheel. The new 5 stars they have just come out with are also awesome.
