So I get in my car this morning and my dash lights up like a christmas tree.....It screaming that my ABS and ACTIVE HANDLING need service????
I have never had any lights or issues and then they just both pop on?? I drove to work without being able to see anything but the service messages..... When I got to work I turned it off and back on and no lights???? I will see what happens tonight when I get ready to leave...
Check Battery for any leaks. Its been known that prior to 04 models batteries are prone to developing leaks, causing corrosion on electronic modules that sit under the battery compartment causing all kinds of electrical issues. Otherwise you may be having some other problems affecting the systems that comprise TC/AH and probably do need service either way. Good luck, hope its nothing serious.
Well, you certainly don't want to ignore what may be a problem but I have to say that every once in awhile first thing in the morning the AH and ABS warning lights come on and stay on...until I turn the ignition off and back on...the lights pop on during the routine start up then disappear. So far, the shop has found nothing wrong.
Hmmm...yeah one time starting up on gravel I got the active handling warming up. I know in my F-body I would get a ABS light all the time and it ended up being a battery.
Had it happen on mine for no reason. After I'd been in and out of the car, battery probably running low and took it out one evening, lights on and was introducing a few friends to Z06 express power delivery. Anyway, the electrics in the door never worked and after about a mile, se4rvice active handling, service traction control. turned ignition off, waited a while, back on and fully functional.
I think from reading the posts on this forum that the C5 has real issues with random messages when the battery is low. i now use an Accuguard battery charge maintainer and haven't had any problems since. i mean it's an 02 but it's only got 4200 miles on it.
You know this all makes since too because I didnt drive my car for the last 3 days (its my daily) as I was on my first anniversary with the wifey and I drove the Firehawk all weekend and Monday... I probably am just getting low output.
