If you are using the defrost setting, the AC will automatically be turned on to remove moisture from the air. You cannot turn the AC when using the defrost.

Above is correct ... as long as you have the temp set where you want it ... don't worry about the a / c light being on. It is simply indicating the compressor being on and removing moisture.

the hvac is using the a/c mode to remove moisture from the air. you have to use a manual mode to prevent this from happening automatically. just my .02.
The manual explains how to put the unit in full manual mode. You basically have to set the temp to either extreme hot or extreme cold to stay in manual mode, otherwise it will reactivate it's auto mode (i.e. AC) after about 10 minutes.

Resetting the memory button has nothing to do with the issue at hand. The memory button is only when you first get into the car it will rememeber your setting or when you push the button on you fob. He said in his post that he turns it off then 10 minute later while driving the AC is on again. It's the Climate control at work

Memory definitely affects climate control but I agree it may have nothing to do with his problem. In fact, there may not be a problem.
