I'm considering the same thing and wonder if it would be worth it. I've already got a full set of wagon wheels in the corner of the garage that are just collecting dust. I figure it would be better than buying a whole new set of wheels AND tires.
When I get my motor work done this winter I will be pushing 500+ rwhp and will need a little help with traction at the strip. I figure I may only hit the track 5-7 times next year so its not like I am going to make a living out of this. I just need something else so I dont ruin my HRE's and Michelins.
Nitto 285 35 18 front 305 35 18 rear...
on 18X9.5 front and 18X10.5 rear
Like the wagon wheels...so I bought this second set for the Nitto's...
...and I dont take them off

Went with Nitto SR II

When you get them, get the 555R's for the rear and the 555's for the front. I've cut 1.8 60' times without a problem, with a slipping clutch. I can't wait to see what they will do now that I have a good clutch in there.
