Use the forum search function. Many have added these including myself with no problems. You must find a dealership or shop with a Tech2 to turn on the function in the computer, then train the sensors.
Nope, I had my local Chevy dealer do it. I had to provide the instructions on how to go into the Tech2 device and activate them. They charged me $160 which included re-balancing all four tires.
I'm at work and don't have the URL to the site with the step by step instructions, if someone doesn't post it by tomorrow am, I'll drop by and post it for you.
I have not had any problems with mine. had them installed about a month ago. It's nice to have the info at your fingertips. It's dead on according to my expensive tire gauge. It was done at the dealer. They had a good balance machine as well. Enjoy!
So you can turn on the tire sensors in Z's at the dealership for around $160? That's good to know in the future when I get one.
Before you "turn on" the sensors you will have to install them. This means that you will also have to shell out another ~$240 for the parts (tire sensors & nuts).
Find you a good dealer. I bought four sensors from my dealer for 240 and then 90 to install, balance and turn on the DIC Computer. Took real good care of my car as well. I tipped the tech 20 for future care and concern for my car. He even cleaned my wheels...they looked new. Also installed ceramic pads... they were 110 for front and back + 40 for install. Not all dealers, techs and counter men try to screw you. Small dealership insmall town where we all know each other and live together. They appreciate my business.
I also had them turn on the "auto headlight" feature, not that I use it. It will add a bit of uniqueness to my car down the road when I sell it. My car came with the sensor already installed. Like I said I don't use that feature but it's there.
