Default Paint wearing through

My yellow 02 vett conv seems to have a problem with the paint wearing through where the fabric flap covers the rear deck, directly behind the seats. Anyone else have this problem and did you fix?

If I understand just where you are talking about, I've seen some plastic film that you can install in that area to protect the paint when the top is up. I know they made it for the C4, and hopefully did for the C5. Check with a vendor like Mid-America or Ecklers and see if they have this.

I think that I read here that there was a TSB on that also. Maybe C5tech will chime in.

Wow!! I have to check mine. I keep it waxed but I'll have to check it for wear. If it's an '02 that should be a warranty issue. There were earlier C5's that had other cover issues and they were covered under warranty. Got any pics I would like to see the damage.

I've got that, either M-A or Eckler's. Roughly $30 if I recall which is steep for what you get, but worth it. There are 3 deep depressions in my tape but the paint isn't wearing off like it would be w/out the tape.

If you raise the rear portion of the canvas top, you will see the strut rods on each side which can be adjusted.
Each rod has a 13mm adjusting nut and a 15mm locking nut. Loosen this locking nut and slightly turn the adjusting nut a little at a time. Each time you turn the nut, raise the top and check for proper clearance. The amount of clearance should be equivalent to the thickness of a credit card.
