Could someone with a C5 snap a quick pic for me using the same angle that I did in my pic below? It's kind of over the pass. side mirror looking at the door seam.
Don't have the angle pic you're looking for, but DO have some questions. Has your Vette been worked on recently?? Have you had any repairs done in the battery compartment, vacuum hose area, or A/C blower issues repaired?
It looks like somebody has had your passenger side front quarter panel off for some work and didn't put it back on properly, OR somebody had it on a lift and didn't mount it on the rack properly possible bowing the fender a little. I'm guessing that your door is working properly and has good alignment from the side....

Hi,
I was hoping I was imagining things (though I really knew I wasn't, sigh). You're not going to believe this, but this is a result of a dealer adjusting my windows!!! No lie. They will be getting a call tomorrow . . . .

That explains it for sure! Yep, get the dealer to make it right. And don't worry, it's just a minor thing to fix. Good thing you didn't watch 'em when they were working on the window. You'd have been horrified to see them peel the door side off and fold it down to the floor like opening a clam shell.
No worries pal, it'll turn out perfect after you chat with the Service Mgr....
They would be getting more than a phone call from me. It never ceases to amaze me how some shops actually think a corvette owner will accept or maybe just not notice this type of inferior workmanship. The guy that did the work owes you an appology for being so unattentive and careless. jmo. Raise hell and don't settle for anything less than perfect.

Thanks for the posts FDA!! So what did they do to cause this??

Don't worry guys, the service manager will be there to see this. I think I will just drop in tomorrow. I might even send pics of this to GM, though I'm not sure what good it would do.
looks like the 4th grader who did the "adjustment" played with the door hinges to make the glass contact the rubber. this is known as operation #77muffed..............

You're right - something does not look right. Looks like the top of the door is way out of alignment. May be time to have a body shop adjust the panel. Good luck.
Sadly, I can tell you that you are not imagining anything. That is just not right. Here is a photo that I just snapped from nearly the same position, not exact but close enough that you will get the picture.
Take this to the dealer. Sometimes it helps if they have something to compare it too.

Thanks for the pic Talon!! I was just looking at it in the sunlight and you can tell something is seriously wrong just by glancing at it.
Thanks to all those that responded. Turns out the "tech" didn't know the procedure for adjusting the window, so she adjusted the whole door!!! Scary ain't it????
The doors are back in place now, but I have to take it back again to get the windows aligned properly, plus they have to fix 2 dings on my interior door panels that the "tech" caused.

What';s that saying, the 3rd times the charm???
Each and every opportunity these techs get to learn on someones car is an opportunity for something else to get broken. I hope the the third time is the charm. I'm also sorry that you have to go thru this.
God, stuff like this really p***es me off. Could the tech actually have felt good about the job he did. What ever happened to quality control, who's responsible to oversee this person's work? For crying out loud, these are $50k cars.

Thanks Talon. You know what the kicker is? The "tech" acted like she didn't do anything wrong.
I'm definitely NOT happy with the whole situation, but I am really trying to keep a cool head about it. Though we'll see how well that works when I see how they repair the door skins.
