I had one and it did add a few ponies, but I am getting ready to SC the vette, I sold it. It is a nice add on for those that don't plan on doing serious modding.
It's not useless but you'll get better performance by going to a tuner. A professional tune shouldn't cost you much more. Ask them to save your programming when they're done in case a dealer ever flashes your PCM, it'll save you from paying for another tune from scratch.
If you have an automatic the Hypertech does NOT allow you to change downshift points and that is the most important change IMO.
I like it alot, much of the bad press it gets I believe are from people that have not used it. I say this because many times I see things posted about it that I know from experience are not really true about the hypertech III. I think it is a good very basic tuning tool, somewhere between a simple performance chip and a predator type hand held. Hi Mark how is it going.

I beleive the HPIII has its place. I used it to change the rear and when the fans come on. I firmed up the shift just a tick. But that is all I intended to do from the start.
I think I am going to purchase a predator also. I tried to sell my hypertech once but did not have much luck. I have not tried it on ebay yet I seem to have better luck selling things there. I like the hypertech but I think with some help I could get more out of my vette with the predator. Expecially after I get my longtube headers on that are setting in the garage collecting dust. I am waiting on 02 sensors and my starter sheild. Ordered everything in August and still waiting on some items.
