I have been using NXT for a year now and always get streaking . Is this a common problem? I have tried NXT in shade, sun..still streaks. It's a great shine except for the streaking....Help! Triple black 2000 C5
It must be something you are doing. I have been using it for six months on a black car and have had no problem. By the way you posted in the wrong section, this should be in car care.
Haven't used NXT, but Zaino can do the same thing if you apply it too thick. Sometimes you even need to clay the area to get rid of the streaks before you reapply.
Many of these new polishes are temp and humidity sensitive. If it's much cooler then usual (it is here in the mid west) it may not have cured long enough.
I've used both Zaino and NXT and noticed I had to let them cure for hours when it's below 55 degrees.
To avoid streaking, here is what I do. I have five or six of Sal Zaino's pads, a terry clothed covers foam pad.. The first thing I do is wet the pad thoroughly.. then I squeeze it as dry as I can. Then I apply a ring of Zaino or NXT.. I use both... I then fold the pad and squeeze it so the polish is distrubuted on the pad and is not concentrated anywhere..
Now I apply it. using the water will allow the pad to spread the polish on a larger area, thus making the application thin. This will do two things... one , it will make it thin and more even. Two it will allow you to use much less polish. I use to get 2 or three waxings with a bottle of Zaino..and it was hard to remove because I put it on too thick, and it took forever to dry.. I can do my car with Zaino in less than an hour using this method.. BTW you only wet the pad one time.
Now I can get 10 waxings from one bottle of zaino.. and probably 20 waxings from a bottle of NXT.. using this method will leave a streak free shine. Also one other tip... throw your take off towels in the dryer for a few minutes.. this will make them warm and fluffy and will remove the polish much easier and faster..

I agree withe the above. Some very good tips. You can use more of the same wax to loosen the streaky areas and wipe off before it dries. Then reapply a thin coat.

I even use a spray bottle to moist the surface before I applied the wax. Just like spit and shine.
I'm not sure sure about with NXT, which I'm using as a base coat but haven't had streaks by using it very thin, but with Carnuba waxes, which I use as an overcoat, if I don't like the lay down once polished off, I use a spray bottle with clean water, lightly mist then buff. I actually use the bottled water from the house because water where I live is high in alkaline, but I'm a tad ****... tap water would probably be fine because you use so little and just immediately wipe it off. I also prefer the microfiber towels for wiping off. You can feel when its full of wax.
