hand brake button vibrates
I have a 97 C5 and the button on my hand brake lever vibrates ALL THE TIME!!! After 5 years of listening to this, it's finally driving me nuts!!!!! 
The button is metal, and it must sit inside a metal housing. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to resolve this? If you do, you can feel good knowing you saved my sanity.

The handle assembly can be taken apart. First remove the boot, the plastic handle and then the button/ rod can be lifted out. You could add some RTV silicone or teflon tape around the button so it won't rattle. I would remove the whole parking brake assembly from the car and degrease it then apply Mobil 1 grease, it will be easy to remove the button/ rod then. The passenger seat must be taken out before the parking brake assembly. The old factory grease and accumulated dirt can cause the internal ratchets to hang up and prevent the brake from holding regardless of how the shoes are adjusted. If you remove the assembly check the cable grommet where the parking brake cable goes through the tunnel and if it does not close up the hole, seal it with RTV or Goop to keep out water.
