Default Please Help! Foglight is Out.

Hi Guys,

I have a 1998 vette and my left fog light is out. Do any of you know where is the cheapest place to buy a replacement? What is the easiest way to get to it when I want to replace it? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Default foglight out

I picked my bulb up at Wal-Mart. Raise the hood then the headlights (or vice versa) and reach in under the headlight. Or you can go thru the brake duct under the fog light. Push the duct in and out of the way and reach in. The smaller the hands the better.

Man I wish I had found this site sooner! Back in Sep. I had to get an inspection sticker and my left front turn signal was out. Cost me $35 to have that bulb replaced! It’s gone out twice sense then ??? and both times I’ve changed it. And like you say, it’s best to have a little hand going through the brake duct!

I bought mine at Advance Auto Supply.
Raise headlamps and take off the plastic suround with 3 screws. Then you can reach down and untwist the socket and remove the bulb holder. Simple after you do it once.

I forget the part number but you can install "brighter" bulbs in the fog lights. I did mine last year. It was real easy and I think the bulbs were around $13 each at Wal Mart. Someone must know the part number for the brighter bulbs. All my stuff is out in the garage or I'd quote the number myself.

I've got one out too. I love the look of those lights but think one out looks tacky so I leave them off for now. Boy I gotta fix it, I wanna do the Piaas but this could be a quick fix for now.

I think the standard bulb is a 893, a 35 watt one, the 885 is a 50 watt one that has the same connections that some other people went to!

Default Thanks Guys!

Thanks for your time guys. It is not my signal that is out but the round foglight. I don't think the bulbs can be replaced on those.

Auto supply stores should have the light bulb. The methods mentioned above will get you access.
