What does this sound like to you all... When I am stopped at night lately I've noticed that my headlights dim when the brakes are applied. I've also noticed that periodically the intensity of the lights also fluctuates while I'm highway driving. As well, If I don't drive the car for a couple of days it seems a little harder to start and the previous settings on the HUD & DIC are reset. The battery volts guage in the DIC tends to move around sometimes as well. It normally sits on 14.2V but it sometimes goes down to 13.3V when I'm driving.
Is this a dying battery that might not be holding a full charge? I've tried a trickle charger on the battery but the problem persists. I don't have a hydrometer so I can't easily check the condition of the cells.
Or, is it a loose belt causing this problem or a combination of both???

Optima red top BTW, there are two red tops. Get the one with the higher CCA's (Cold Cranking Amps). I think it's the 34/78 if I remember correctly.
BTW, check some of your grounds too. There are two just in the engine compartment alone. They are located on the top of the frame rails behind the hood hinges (one on pass. side and one on driver side) and are attached to a stud.
