Some info for you
For the past few days I have noticed that when starting my car, after it is warmed up, there was a high pitched noise coming from under the hood. After maybe 15 seconds it would go away. I am an old guy so I credit myself with the ability to recognize some sounds in terms of diagnosing a problem. My initial reaction was fan belt, idler/tensioner bearing or some other bearing. Well last night I found the problem. It turned out to be the hose from the air pump to the air filter. The hose was on the elbow but the little ratchet clamp was loose. I figure the noise was noticiable until the system equalized in some way. At any rate, this little tidbit might help somebody - someday! This doesn't seem technical enough for C5 Tech so I hope I am posting in the correct place.

Thanks for the info. I'm sure it will come in handy for someone soon. It's always a good idea to check all the hoses and clamps every so often.
