Can anyone tell me how to align the headlight doors? The left one goes down flush but the right one sticks up about 1/16". Also after washing it the other day they were making a gawd awfull "skweeeeeek" that went away after a couple days. What is a good lubricant that won't gum things up? Thanks...JA
It could be something is stuck inside the headlight thats not letting the door close all the way, but chances are the plastic gears of the headamp motor might have some teeth missing.
Mine makes the "skweeeeeek" noise all the time when is cold outside, it made it even when it was new.
I have a similar situation. My drivers side goes all the way down, then pops back up about the same as you described. It seems like the stop may be a bit off. For now, I just pop the hood and manually adjust it to being flush.

There are four aligment screw under each cover, one under each corner. They are mounted vertically with a white plastic tops. I have the same issue, but after trying to align the cover, I found out the whole headlight aseembly is mounted to the car ... crooked! As for lube, use grease ... WD-40 attracts dust and gunk. Hope this helps
Yeah, just the four adjustment screws, use a T-15 to remove the headlight cover and adjust up or down. Also check the control arm for play, from the motor to lamp assm., sometimes these get worn.
