Default Gauge cluster plastic removal... Ever done it?

Hello Men,

I would like to remove the plastic covering my gauge cluster to clean behind it. Does anyone know if this can be done easily?

Thanks
Andy

On the Vette Essentials web site you can look into the procedure for de-installing the console, etc.

Follow those procedures and you can get to the plastic cover on the guages for cleaning.

It will take about 30-45 minutes to remove the cluster from the dash.

Here the link to get at the instrument cluster

It looks scary, but it really is not tough at all. Just follow the instructions as shown above, take your time and it will go smooth. The most difficult part (for me) was getting the HUD connector off. Take your time and patience on that part. Just pull lightly on the wires and it will eventually come off.

If you really do go through all this to clean the inside of the plastic, you probably should put on some new bezels or dial faces while you are at it... Can it be done, yes. Easy, maybe for some here but I wouldn't try it just to clean.

I installed the SS Insert rings last year with the same instructions. Took me 3 hours, some frustration. DEFINATELY cover your sterring wheel before removing cluster. I raked mine
