Default bsm problem?!?!?!

ok, followed the corvetteforum method of removing the body side moldings and one came off and cleaned up without a hitch using a hair dryer and 3m tar and wax remover....on the other side, though, the hard black adhesive(in between the white strips) will not come off at all!!!!!!! any suggestions?

"Goo Be Gone" works on lots of things. Also 3M adhesive remover is awesome!

I've removed several sets of BSM's in the past, and never noticed any "hard black adhesive." Any chance the car has been repaired?

Goo Be Gone and LOTS of time and patience. I used my fingertips and the hairdryer to slowly and gently remove all the ick after removing my BSM - see here http://inferno.englandgreen.com/BSM/

I agree that Goo Gone stuff really works. Let it soak in and then work it off.

We all know the double sided tape is grey but it appears black from dirt it picks up on the car as it is rolled. And it will be hard if the outside temps are colder. So that is what he is experiencing. I used a Zaino clay bar to remove the remaining tape on my car.

If the hair dryer won't loosen it, I too would recommend Goo Gone or Goof Off. Both work well.

Notice the clean smooooooooooth lines minus BSm's. I think bsm stands for bull s*hit mothers
