Default Competitive Driving button...

Do all C5 models have "competive driving" feature when you press and hold traction control button? Or is the feature only available on select models?

It's only on models with Active Handilng, which was an option from 98-2000.
2001 and newer cars came with it standard, so if you're referring to your 04, yes, you have it.

It basically disables the T/C function and leaves you with only A/H.

What are all the ways you know of to activate this. I've tried holding button down when it was already on/off for up to 20s when I'm driving as well as while stopped... both in drive, park, nuetral (haven't tried reverse yet :P )

Is it possible that not 'every' vette with AH has this? I've a 98 A4 w2.73 gearing and F45 suspension... what else can I try to activate competition mode?

first of all, are you sure your '98 has active handling?

all '98s have traction control, but active handling was a mid '98 option.

it will say "Active Handling" above the button on the console.

If you have active handling then all you have to do is hold the button down for more than 5 seconds while you are stopped. you will see a message in the DIC that says "Competitive mode".

Ah, that might be it then. So the button on the center console that turns on and off the traction control must say active handling next to it. So I don't have the stability correcting independent brake management thingies that will save me in a spin? darn
