Default Need help with dilemma guys!!!!!

Short and sweet i have always wanted a Vette and i have always wanted an LS1 SS Camaro. Why do you guys think i should get the Vette instead. I am finally able to get what i want just having a hard time determining what that is. I know the Vette is loved by many but besides the fact that it is a Vette what other reasons are there that should sway me that way? Just worried that the maintenace on the Vette would be really expensive. Thanks for all of your help.

If you buy the Camaro, you'll always be 2nd guessing your decision.....if you go with the Vet, you'll never look back!

Go with what makes you happy! Good luck!

Get the vette there is really no other car in the same price range that can compare. I grew up in the sixties and really had other priorities then but always knew i would own one someday. A corvette is a true american sportscar....own one and you will understand

Go for the Vette! I've had both and the Vette is the far superior.
Maintence costs shouldn't be that much different since they both use basically the same engine.
They used to say that the Camaro was the Poor Man's Corvette, but in reality it was the Corvette's poor cousin.

The difference is easy.

A Corvette was designed from the ground up to be a high performance sports car. There were no compromises made to deliver that product.

A Camaro was designed, using a sedan chassis, to be a grocery getter for secretaries, an affordable car for teenagers and on occasion, a high-performance sedan (NOT a sports car).

This isn't to put the Camaro down. It does a fine job at what it was designed to do but a car designed to be all things to all people ends up not being quite everything to anybody.

I agree. Go drive a C5. If that doesn't convince you, then go buy a Camaro.

Had a c-3, z28 iroc and now a c5. Loved them all, but if I had all 3 at the same time and had to give up one, it would be the camaro. Hands down, the vette is far superior in all respects. Power, handling, comfort, drool factor, etc. Good luck and congrats on whatever you choose!

I had a 2000 LS1 Camaro. It was a blast due to performance mods were less priced. I am on my 2nd C5 being an 04. Believe me C5 is the way to go. It was built for performance. If you drive both you will defently feel better of purchasing C5.

Drive both and you will see there's no sportscar like the Corvette for under 50K.
The only advantage that the SS has is that it has 4 seats.

You really need to drive them both and take them for as long a drive as you can. It's you that has to live with the car not the rest of us. That's how I ending up buying my yellow C5 coupe.

Good Luck

It's a push but I think the Vette is a better choice, for me anyways.

YEP ! Depends on what you're satisfied with.
Consider this: A corvette and a Camaro are driving down the same street, both approaching each other.
You're between them both.
Which one do you watch?

'Nuff said?
