The rear hatch glass on my coupe always has a film on it inside. Anyone else have this problem, is it from the leather? I've only had this car a little over a month and it's very hard to keep the rear glass clean. May have been from the dealer prepping the car?
You didn't mention the year or age of your car. I'm assuming that it's a new car since you mentioned dealer prep. I've heard that the vinyl and plastic interior trim parts will outgas and contribute to this film. I had tried all kinds of products trying to remove it and keep it gone but everything I used would streak or the film would come back quickly. I had the best success with some Isopropyl alcohol on a microfiber towel. It is now the cleanest it's ever been and seems to be staying that way longer.
plastics (plus chemicals you may use in the car) emit fumes which will deposit.........I just use a good glass cleaner regularly and the cool parts of the year pretty well end the issue until it gets warmer again
I've had that same problem on my 02 coupe for almost 3 years. Being a nonsmoker I don'y quite understand it. I can clean it one day and the next it's has a film on it again.

The whole interior just "gasses" for a while. Mines an '03 and especially in the summer it is quite bad. Spot-on comment about a non-smoker and the film. Seems like it just happens overnight!
Keep everything clean and just deal wih it for a while. I tried leaving the windows down in the garage and that seemed to help a bit....but the new smell goes away as well.
