Default Finnaly getting DR's, question

Well, I'm ready for some DR's . I was talking to a friend, and he thought that I should get 305's instead of 295's. What brand and size do you guys recomend? I heard that Nittos are the best but not sure.

I have BFG 315's..... I believe that BFG's are the best.

BFGs are a better track tire.

Nittos are a better daily tire.

Make your decision there.

Hmmm... This car is a daily driver so the Nittos sound more atractive at this point. Are there any other tires that are non DR but that have better tracktion than the DRs? Or just stick to DRs?

I run BFGR DRs on the track and they rock! On the street, well, pray it stays dry If you run them on the street, they will throw lots of crap ojn the back of your car, not good. IMO get BFGR on another set of rims and just throw them on for the 1/4. Hope this helps.

Get the BFG'c DR....they stick pretty good. Driving them on the street should be to and from the dragstrip only though.

My daily tires are BFG's G-Force KD's

The Nittos are great all around tires but need to be heated up whereas the BFG are ready to go with just a cleaning. I run the Nittos full time but don't think I will again. In the summer these tires get very soft and pick up pretty much everything on the road. It's like having your own Zamboni for screws and other junk laying out on the road.

I am in need of traction as well....I can't even get in to a street race anymore, because I have to let a guy get 5 cars on me before I hook, and then I have to pass 'em and the race is over....I think I'm going to go with the Nitto's

I'm running Nitto 555 II and love them on the track and the street, this thing launches like it never did before and corners like its on a rail. I only have 1800 miles on this set of tires but so far no complaints at all. I'm running 305-18 in the rear if that makes any difference.

Right on you guys! Thanx for all the info, I think I will go with the Nittos 555. I think it's more of an all around tire than the BFG.
How many miles can you out on these tires before they are toast?

I bet they'd last close the the F1SC stockers assuming only daily driving based on the wear of my F1s. But I did break a rear end at the track on my buddy's 555r's. Be careful when warmed up. ;-)

I have run BFG Drag Radials on my last two Corvette.

It is a necessity on the Z06... I don't drive mine everyday, but they are no problem on the street. I have driven mine in the pouring rain, when I got caught, it is like anything else, just have to be careful.

I think the traction is better on the BFG's than the Nitto's, people mostly comment they are better street tires because they last longer and are better in the water.

What I care about is traction.

For the record I run 295/35/18 size.

Default BFG or Nitto (Maybe Toyo)

From my research:

Nittos - need to be heated to be really sticky
BFG's - sometimes won't last past 1,000 miles
Toyo RA-1's - maybe the best compromise between the two?

Don't know, i'm still doing research but must decide before Christmas. Santa's buying me a new set of tires !!!

On another note. For you guys that are running the BFG's, what kind of tire pressures do you find work best when at the track?

Thanks
