Well living in Coral Springs (right next to Parkland) and having made the drive to Michigan and back several times (usually in big Buicks for Woodward Dream Cruise) I would tell you the run is more like 25 hours depending on where the car is. (I've gone into and out of Royal Oak suburb of Detroit).
It is a fairly easy drive. 15 hours the first day, and about 10 the next. Most boring part is Fl and Ga as they look the same. Most spirited the mountains in Kentucky, and Tennessee. And watch out for cops coming into Ohio. Lots of flat farmland and very easy for them to hide in the overgrown grass.
My favorite memories are few (one of which I cannot tell you, but yes she is now my wife) in the mountains there are openings between lanes of traffic (north and south bound) that look like you could just fall off the world and coming out of the mountains at 5am in heavy fog and not being able to see in front of you. Drop the hammer and cruise through it and pray no-ones on the other side as you wont see them, and they wont see you !
One thing that will amaze you is outside of Fl, everyone allows traffic to flow quicker in the left lanes, no lane blockers other than in Fl. But you might run into some snowbirds this time of year.

I don't know where in Michigan you are picking up your vette, but today was the begining of deer hunting season so the critters are really out and about. If you have to drive far in Michigan be very alert, one of those things can do alot of damage.

Novi, MI...I believe it's sort of S.E. MI near Detroit. I'm flying into Flint and have an hour drive to get to the car. Thanks for the warning, I'll keep my eyes peeled. Although If I hit one at 145mph I'm pretty sure I'll have a fully dressed deer, along with a completely totalled vette. LOL I plan on taking it very easy on the way back, a nice cruise with good tunes and a good buddy of mine as co-pilot.

Hey Thanks for the info. fellow Broward Countian, Sounds like that's pretty close to my destination. I did a "mapquest" for miles and time and it came back with 22 hours so I wans't totally sure of the exact time. Guess it all depends on the route as well. We are going to go south from the Detroit area and hit 80 (I think) and head east by south east to make our way to St. Simon Island Georgia...I have a loaner Beach house there so we can unwind and pig out on some GREAT seafood. Then of course back home to the "blue hair" capital of the country, and spank I-95/turnpike the rest of the way. Gonna give the new girl a real nice bath and a few days of R&R when I get home to Parkland.
I'm almost positive I've seen your car before, I work in Coconut Creek and have many friends in Coral Springs. I checked out your webpage, that's a seriously hot vette. You've really put some TLC into it and it really shows! If I see you on the street I'll make sure to flash my lights.
