Has anyone removed the side molding from thier car? I'm thinking of putting a set of spears RK sports sells, I am unsure what the molding will do when its removed. I don't want to repaint the sides of the car.

The moldings will usually come off if you use a hair dryer to heat the molding then take a piece of heavy fishing line and use it as a saw between the molding and the two sided tape that holds it on. A little Goo Gone will take away any remaining adhesive. The only problem most people run into when removing them is that the paint under the molding may not match the rest of the car due to fading.

Sorry I bored you with my side molding thread. Never read others thread on this subject because I wasn't doing that MOD, but now I am installing the RK sport hood and I like their moldings also. I don't want to paint the whole car. My Vette is MAGRED and I don’t want to mess her up.
as stated above, the main thing is fading of the colors leaving a ghost type of line there...or if its a used one, someone else here with the same color coupe figured out someone must have repainted a door w/o removing that modling so it had a nice ridge tehre...
