Do these go bad often? My gauge has been maxed out since I bought it and I when asked about at Corvette Specialty the reply was “we won’t fix them anymore. They’re a bitch to get at and they seem to just go bad again in a couple of months……”

Is this a known C5 issue? Is there a reliable aftermarket replacement sending unit? Suggestions?

yes it's a common thing, i don't know about every few monthes though, I'm also unaway of any aftermarket units. I do suggest you do a little reasarch and replace it yourself, it's really not all too bad of a job

Man, what a lazy tech. It's not a difficult job. Our very own Evil-Twin has even done a Tech Tip on how to swap it (linked below). DIY and save some serious change.

Oil pressure sensor replacement

Arrow points to sensor. Don't worry - you don't have to pull the motor half apart to get to it.

Juts replaced mine last weekend.
Someone said that you just need to pull the intake out a bit.
But I don't think you be able to replace it without taking off the intake.
Well, the new sensor got 1 year warranty so I hope it lasts 1 year

Thanks! I'll order it and get on it this weekend!
