A Different Blackout Lens
Have had these on the car for two days, flush mounted, and have had several positive comments.
The smaller logo on the bottom half of the lens is an open design, while the center design is larger with detail showing as checkered flag, bowtie and Fleur de Lis showing.

I went through some trial and error back in the summer and managed to figure out how to tint some clear paint with black and after sanding down my tail lights, I painted them just enough to black them out. They turned out really good. Over the past several weekends I've geared up to paint several sets for other various forum and local club members. On the 2nd set I painted, I switched to an airbrush instead of the paint gun and they turned out excellent. Since then I've done 2 more sets and repainted my own. The biggest key is a make-shift paint booth. Clear tinted with black is just like spraying true candy paints and any dust will ruin the paint job. I'm using House of Kolor products so the final finish is just a good as the paint on the car and probably better.
I even bucked up and picked up an extra set of tail lights so I can send a completed set out and then let the buyer send their set back after they install the blacked out set.
And here are pics of the 2nd set
Here are some pics of my tail lights (repaint) during the daytime.

My lights, flash, no brakes - the flash even makes them turn red, so they will reflect from headlights etc.

Now to work on the logo trick!
Thanks for sharing pics of the second set. Custom lens can actually have any thing on them. One older ex-Marine asked if it would be possible to do a small eagle, globe, and anchor (USMC Logo) on the lens. It's all good.
As far as the darkness, the lens are as dark as any of those available. May have just been the light, but they can be as dark as wanted. You have a better chance of staying out of trouble with LE with the part of the lens in the logo area stock red.
Guess if there is any real interest, I will have to set up a paint booth like yours. Keeping the dust and particles off the lens is near impossible in an open garage.
I am working on the third brake light lens now. I'll send you a pic, wwhen i get it finished.

Switch over to auto paint. That way you can achieve a high gloss finish. My paint booth is a remnant from my interior work, I just reduced the size to take up only one garage bay.
I'll be wetsanding and polishing a set tonight to send out to a CF member.

That is what I am going to try and do. I am also playing with doing a set of blackouts for the front blinker/running light, that has a small C5 logo in the front, on both sides. Will post pics, as soon as I complete.
