how accurate are they?? it seems that since it started getting cold the low tire pressure warning keeps popping up on the dic...I'm thinking it's the cold air but just wondering if thats a sign of a bad tire sensor

They seem pretty accurate to me. I bought one of those Sears digital tire pressure gauge thingies and it reflects what the DIC says the tire pressure is.
Might be a bad sensor, as you said... maybe... I have no clue
Don't forget that your tires will lose about 1psi of pressure for every 10 degree drop in temperature. So if you set them to 30psi on a 90F day, you'll be at 25psi when it's 40F outside. So the sensor probably isn't bad, you just simply need to adjust your pressure higher for the colder ambient temps.

It could just be cold temps lowering your pressure.

From what I can tell, they are farily accurate. At least mine seem to be when I check tire pressure with a digital guage and then get the readout from the sensors.
Mine have always been pretty accurate ... as others have said I've only seen a 1 pound difference on occassion.
If yours are showing different from a good tire gage I would check out the sensor. If you are simply seeing a drop in pressure I'd say it was temp related.

If you look at the readings on the DIC, do all 4 tires read the same pressure? If so, then it is the cold weather, as I doubt all 4 sensors would go bad at the same time.
