Got a pulley or idler squealing, but can't identify which one? It is not the belt slipping - definately a metal to metal type squeal.
What would be most likely? Water pump? Idler, Alternator?
I will get my broomstick out later and go for the close-in hear stick test. It's been sitting for about a week now and it's noisy and does not for a vette sound like it should!
It is continuous and parallels engine RPM.
Anyone with anything similar? A WD40 fix or replace a bearing?

My 2001 with 39,800 miles was doing the same thing. Took it to the dealer and it turned out to be the a/c belt and a/c belt tensioner.
I had them both replaced and it's doing fine now.
Could be several things....
I just replaced the belt, main tensioner, the idler pulley, water pump...
Still was squealing. Got a gator back Belt - no more problems----
I will have to wait and see.
All of the pulleys see to be straight thus keeping the belt true. if not it might be the other two mentioned - power steering pump or the alternator.
Idler pulleys and tensioner pulleys are both known to have bearings go bad. There is an idler pulley and a tensioner pulley on both the main drive belt and the A/C belt. Good luck with the problem/fix.
