i visited a local dealer last night 2 see about getting an suv...i noticed a pre-owned 2004 Z06 w/about 8000 miles on the showroom floor..i inquired about the price just out of curiousity...guy tells me it's 49k...they also had 2 pre-owned coupes outside the showroom...1 w/about 6k miles...the other around 4...these 2 were 2003 models..they're ask'g 41k for each of them...isn't that a little high @ this point 4 all 3 ?? maybe it's a california thing...

Sounds more like a Jesse James thing. They're trying to rip somebody off.

Especially when you can get a new one for under $40K. I guarantee those cars will be there for a long time at that price.

There are some insane deals to be had right now...several on this forum. I dare say that they'll get even better as more C6's become available. This is nothing new by the way. A close friend bought a new '96 C4, and when the C5's came out, his value was absolutely hammered even moreso than the normal depreciation.

It's not unfair either. Right now, the same dealers that are taking a bath on C5's are getting premium prices for C6's due to short supply. I can tell you that very likely, my days of buying brand new cars are over!

I'm not trying to insult anyone, it's just that the supply/demand curve works and this proves it out.

Good for him. I think we should rise the price a little. To many owners are giving there vettes away.

Sounds like the people working at that dealership are high on something. Way too high for used cars.

You can "Ask" anything you want..... the final price will be determined by what a buyer is willing to pay.

Check the autotrader online. There about 8 2004 Z06's listed within 200 miles of my zip code, all dealers, average price below.

Good luck!

Highest price: $59999
Lowest price: $40988
Average price: $47743
