Help...broken exhaust pipe

The drivers side exhaust pipe has broken away from the 2 bolt flange just after the cat. Can this be repaired? Or will I need to replace piping from this flange back. Any help is appreciated, Thanks

I had the same thing happen on my '99.
I bought and installed the Corsa X pipe. It's a good fix and not to hard to install. It will bolt up to your stock or custom exhaust Mufflers.

common problem..this can be welded..but like other I went with a stainless steel Corsa X pipe guaranteed for life.

I'd go to a muffler shop. They should be able to weld it. Unless it's rusted beyond repair. Keep us posted.

Happened on my 98, had Tuffy weld it, took about 20 minutes. another common probelm that GM ignores...

Same thing happened to me, I took it to a muffler shop. They told me they fix them all the time. Cost me $40. They also checked the other welds as well.

Yes, it can be welded back on. Local muffler shop should be able to fix you up.

Take it to the dealer, the H-pipe is warrantied for 8 years/80,000, let GM pay! But rather than fight them, get it welded. Jeff

99 was a bad year for exhaust flanges

I have a 99 coupe. I had the flanges break on each side at different times. An exhaust shop repaired the exhaust flange for $50 each side.

Not a bad repair cost - but do yourself a favor and get a new exhaust anyhow and cosider it a $50 discount

Yup I just welded mine back together man. Go to it or junk the stock catback for some real mufflers!

Well, I took it to the local muffler shop. They rewelded the pipe to the flange, only cost me $70. He said the original weld was very poor. This will buy me some time until I get a new exhaust system. Thanks for the help eveyone.
