Hi. I'm thinking of getting some stainless inserts for front and rear and was wondering if there is any particular brand I should stay away from because of bad fit. Also, I don't want any that are too shiny (chrome look). I'm considering the ones by SS Inserts. Anyone have these?
Thanks for the replies, gang. PTdrummer54, I'm going by Corvettes of Houston tomorrow so will stop in and check theirs out. From the description on their website it almost sounds like they may be selling the ones from SS Inserts. We'll see.
SS Inserts stand behind their product. Lose or damage one he will replace it. But don't worry it is hard to do either if they are installed correctly.
Mine survived a dead on 25 - 30 mph impact from a full sized pick up - not one came loose - anyone interested in a slightly used set (some disassembly required)
And I suspect that SS Inserts is COH's supplier...
im glad to see this post considering ss inserts is the cheapest prices ive seen to date for the letter sets in stainless
been thinking of getting some and well now im sold as far as the quality and fit go
thanks for all the indirect help
As Sully pointed out careful prep will ensure a successful install. In addition to cleaning the area, I would also suggest that you dry fit each letter first, epecially the more complicated ones like the R. Make sure they will fit flush before you add adhesive - if you have to do minor reshaping to make that happen then go for it. Once they dry fit correctly then go for the adhesive.
