underdrive pulley question

underdrive pulley question

I want to install an underdive pulley system and would like to know withch brand is the best, and do you have to change both belts as well. How much power did you guys gain and is it worth it. any input would be great

A month or so ago Hot Rod magazine was doing some sort of engine build up, Dyno testing, article & the under-drive pulleys didn't yield any gain. They admitted they usually don't gain much, but were surprised at getting zip. They seemed to feel that on a street car they were a waste of $$. I'm sure you will get more & better feedback.

ASP underdrive pulley is the only one I know about. You may gain about 5-10hp and you change out the one large belt for two small ones.

When I had my head/cam installed the tuner said their Dyno tests showed very little gain from underdrives. I skipped them as not worth it.
