i have a modified 1968 catilina with 465 hp, car weights a 3 1/2 tons. i raced it against my 03 z06 that old car was on my ***. we ran side by side at 80mph than floored it started pulling away from the catalina at around 140mph

When you race you need to shift down into another gear other than 6th.

think that would help? the vett is made to cut though air, the old catalina is like holding up prywood to the wind but it kept up with me. don't get me wrong i love my vett but i take the old car to the clubs.[

The top speed of the C5 was determined in 5th gear because in 6th gear the wind resistance slows the car down.
