I have read that some members have used velcro tape to install the Z06 screens. Would apprciate finding out where you attached the tape, how many pieces, length and how easy or difficult it is to take the screens out.
I want to take the screens out when I race as I just installed a Vararm cold air intake, I want max air flow.
Do a search on this topic as it's been covered numerous times. Maybe the company that supplies the screens has instructions? The ones I have came with double-sided tape which held up through an accident a few weeks ago that is getting me a new bumper. The screens are still solidly in the old bumper waiting to get transferred.
Top of fascia - use the hook (hard) side of the velcro here.
Bottom - use the hook side here as well.
Use the soft loop side on the top and bottom of the screen.

Use a sheet of thin cardboard on the top and bottom of the screen to cover the velcro, slip it into the fascia and position it then slide the velcro out to allow the velcro to catch on it's mate. Reverse the process to remove.
I used Patches method and it worked perfect. I have found its best to remove the screens before you start cleaning. I did mine after I sprayed the car down and I had to cut another piece or 2 of velcro to re-apply to the screen.

I usually try to remove the screens before I wash the car. The velcro is strong and doesn't come off too easy. The adhesive is kind of week after constant exposure to water (i've noticed).

I used this method for mine. I put strips down that almost covered the entire side and bottom of the screen (did not use any on the top) and then did the same to the fascia opening. Mine have been on there for over three years and they are still holding very well. By leaving the top free of velcro, you can pull the screens out from the top side and then they will detach from the velcro on the bottom.

That's how I installed mine. I've found a common plastic kitchen spatular is very useful in removing them.

Hmm, I've washed mine dozens of times and the screens are as tight as ever. If you use the industrial strength Velcro I don't think you have to worry.
I just recently installed a Vara-Ram B2 in my '01 Coupe. I also installed GM Z06 screens purchased from Fred Beans.
I used a good leather punch (pliers style), to make two installation holes in each side of the urethane bumper. It worked out perfect.
As far as airflow I don't think removing the screens will make any difference.
Thats a great way to mount them. The only thing I would add is that you should put a piece of papper on the top and bottom to push them in.After you have them in the slot, pull the papper out and the velco will attach.
My screens came with 2-sided tape. Every time I tried to install them, I had problems. I used this "Velcro" method and it's worked fine. I saved my cut up cereal box to remove & reinstall them. Never had a problem with the velcro not sticking after it's been washed. And definately get the industrial velcro.
I am thinking of installing cold air screens in order to get cold air into the engine compartment. I want to do this in order to cool down the engine and not to enhance air flow into the manifold - I have already installed a ram air vortex. Did you experience any cold down of the engine etc. when opeing the screens at the fog light? Thanks a lot for your insights.
